The Southern Baptist Convention is woke. And because of that, Southern Baptist seminaries are even woker. Sadly, our seminaries are the ones producing our next generation of pastors, missionaries, and teachers — and the garbage they are being fed continues to grow in absurdity at alarming rates.

Southeastern Seminary is “woke.” Danny Akin, its president, is “woke.”

“Woke” is all the rage these days and if you’re not “woke,” you’re not with it.

Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) has an “Office of Kingdom Diversity” — a program that hosts events such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X read-ins. It exists to promote liberal ideology such as “white privilege,” “white guilt,” and general indignation toward a predominantly white society and its culture. In other words, it exists to teach seminarians that to be white is shameful and “whiteness” must be eradicated.

Southeastern boasts its famous “kingdom diversity” program, which is led by a professor who teaches James Cone’s liberation theology and suggests that many white people only adopt black children because they have a “savior complex.” It should come as no surprise that twisting the Scripture to further their political cause would be close behind.

A few years ago, another seminary professor, Miguel Echevarria, who is also a contributor for The Gospel Coalition (TGC) and the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) made headlines after twisting the biblical accounts of Joseph and Daniel — who were sold into slavery — and calls them immigrants who “blessed” the people.

Echevarria, though, hasn’t stopped pushing his leftist political agenda as he jumps on the “ban the assault rifles” bandwagon of the far-left talking heads in the media.

Echevarria “liked” the following tweet on Twitter recently calling for a ban on “assault weapons”—a ridiculous label leftists use to describe automatic rifles such as the AR-15.

Some of the other ridiculous leftist talking head tweets that Echevarria “liked” include the following anti-American talking points such as “seizing” land from Native Americans:

With Evangelical professors like this training young students to teach Scripture and preach the Word, it’s no wonder why so many Southern Baptist graduates are actually slipping away from biblical fidelity while embracing the whims of the culture.
