I’ve repeatedly argued here at this blog that the influx of contemporary Christian music in our churches is leading the church on a dangerous path to apostasy.

Celebrity Christian pop artists frequently prioritize their own fame and success over bringing glory to God and leading people to salvation. One notable example is Lauren Daigle, who has gained widespread attention and acclaim within the Christian music industry, but has also faced criticism for expressing doubt about the sinfulness of homosexuality, which contradicts traditional Christian beliefs and biblical teachings.

Similarly, the rapper Lecrae used to clearly impart gospel messages in his music, but has since embraced a secular ideology and promotes Marxist ideology, even collaborating with secular musicians. The commercialized Christian music industry frequently promotes and enables idolatry by prioritizing the ambitions of celebrity artists over the glory of God. As a result, biblical truths such as the inherent depravity of humans, the exclusivity of Christ, and God’s abhorrence of sin are often watered down or disregarded.

It is crucial to prioritize the glory of God in every aspect of life. Here is a good short documentary explaining the dangers of this movement in great detail. And here are some more links to our work on this subject:
