Phil Vischer is best known for creating the Christian-themed Veggie Tales cartoon series. He has recently become known among the Woke Church for advocating progressive Democrats, identity politics, and Critical Race Theory. He has questioned whether Latino people who vote Republican are actually just white people in disguise, and has argued that churches should embrace transgender people.

Vischer has also claimed that white people who put their kids in good schools are wicked and racist. Recently, he has begun to openly question the historic, biblical doctrine of sexual morality.

In a recent “Holy Post” podcast, Phil Vischer shamefully compared conservative Christians who oppose the legalization of same-sex marriage to Confederates who wanted to “conserve” slavery. This comparison is not only biblically absurd, but it is also historically inaccurate.

First and foremost, the Bible is clear that marriage is the union of one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5). Therefore, Christians who oppose the legalization of same-sex marriage are not trying to “conserve” anything, but are instead standing up for the biblical definition of marriage. To compare them to those who fought to preserve slavery is not only offensive, but it is also a gross mischaracterization of their beliefs and motivations.
