During a recent episode of The Sword and the Trowel with Tom Ascol of Founders, Voddie Baucham was asked about an incident that happened years ago where he was cut off by LifeWay for speaking up about the “unethical treatment” of another author. It turns out that the other author was none other than Beth Moore.

Baucham would not say exactly what the unethical treatment was, however, it is interesting to note that after this incident, Beth Moore went on to have a decades-long contract with LifeWay while Baucham was the one who nearly lost his writing career over defending her.

“What is a misogynist like you doing defending Beth Moore?” Ascol quipped. Beth Moore, who Baucham says was “little known” at the time of the incident, has now morphed into a full-on anti-male feminist who spends the majority of her life and career lambasting men like Voddie for their biblical positions on gender roles. Of course, Voddie gets a pass for this because Moore was largely unknown and, during her early career, she appeared to be much more faithful to the Scriptures and only taught women’s small groups.
