Robert Morris, pastor of Gateway Church has issued a challenge to tithers that if they’re not satisfied with the results of their tithe after a year, his church will refund your money.
Gateway Church is a charismatic Word of Faith church where much of our modern, contemporary worship music is born. Popular charismatic worship artist, Kari Jobe, served as a worship leader there for six years. Morris is also deeply devoted to the “woke church” social justice movement.
Morris made headlines last year when he recalled a time when he had an “encounter” with a “genderless” “Jezebel spirit.” Morris preached a sermon devoted to the “Jezebel Spirit.” Now, before we go any further, we must understand that there is no such thing as a “Jezebel Spirit” as it is found nowhere in Scripture. It is a figment of the charismatic imagination. Nonetheless, Morris describes this imaginary being as though it is a real, living entity that he has actually come in contact with.
Morris says that this spirit is “genderless” but it can manifest as either male or female–and the times that he has encountered this spirit, it has been through a male.
Robert Morris has also been highly influential in Southern Baptist circles, including former Southern Baptist president, Ronnie Floyd, who echoed Morris’ teachings on first fruits tithing.
