Despite the futile efforts of some states and policymakers to implement total abortion bans around the country, a recent study shows that only sixteen percent of Americans actually want to ban all abortions. The study shows that twenty-five percent want to ban abortions in “most cases” while over half — fifty-four percent — want abortions either legal in most cases or all cases.

The study is no surprise, the actual number of born-again Christians is likely far below sixteen percent. Abortion is murder. And murder, in any circumstance, should be opposed from every possible angle. As Christians, we believe that human life begins at the moment of conception. This is backed by Scripture which declares that God forms us in the womb and knew us even before that (Jeremiah 1:5). And human life is vastly more valuable than animal life as human beings are created in the Image of God. To take the life of an innocent child in the womb is a direct assault on the Image of God — and God does not take this lightly.that

Professing Christians who continue to argue in favor of exceptions for rape or incest need to understand this — this is not an excuse for murder. While we stand against the atrocities of these evil acts, we can not bow the knee to Satan and allow the life of the innocent child to be taken. The child does not deserve capital punishment for his father’s crimes.

While American continues to contend with the evil of abortion, God’s judgment is being poured out on this nation. The nation has largely turned its back on God and away from the biblical values and principles it was founded upon. America — and even the American Church — is wrought with homosexuality and sexual perversion, feminism, and other various forms of God-opposing ideology yet there is little we can do about it. As Christians, we should continue to pray for God’s mercy, continue in obedience to evangelize and call God’s people to repentance and faith, and pray for Christ’s return to be hastened.
