Hillsong is a Sunday morning entertainment venue that attracts mostly unregenerate, immoral people who want to be identified as semi-faithful, but don’t want to have to actually be accountable to God for their lives.

Hillsong NYC is no exception, as it is home to the famous pop star, Justin Bieber. In a recent interview with Vogue, Bieber expressed his disdain with true Christianity, stating,

I wouldn’t consider myself religious. That confuses a lot of people because they’re like, Well, you go to church. I believe in the story of Jesus—that’s the simplicity of what I believe. But I don’t believe in all the religious elitism and pretentiousness like people are better than you because they come to church, like you have to go to church and dress a certain way. I get sensitive when religion comes up because it’s been so hurtful to a lot of people. I don’t want to be thought of as someone who stands for any of the injustice that religion has done and does do.

Of course, simply “believing in the story of Jesus” does not make one a born-again Christian. It comes as no surprise, as Hillsong is known for its prosperity gospel self-help motivational preaching that is centered around secular cultural norms and man-centered ideology. The “all about me” approach taken inside — and outside — the doors of Hillsong are highly attractive to the unregenerate soul, like Bieber.

Whether it’s setting aside the Scriptures to parade a nearly naked man on stage at a women’s conference, depicting Jesus being born in a bar in a musical trailer, promoting the sex pervert, Austin Powers, or, simply, holding a Catholic Mass at its recent conference, one thing is for sure, the gospel is rarely, if ever, preached.

Just last week, one of Hillsong’s leading music artists made the claim that “Jesus is not your judge,” of course, completely denying Scriptures such as 2 Corinthians 5:10John 5:22, and Revelation 1:7, just to name a few. Two years ago, Justin Bieber was caught in New Zealand with his pastor, Carl Lentz, taking liquor shots and removing his clothing.
