Newsflash! God is Not Pleased With Texas’ New Abortion Ban

While many conservatives and pseudo-conservatives are praising the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Texas’ controversial law banning abortions for any children with a detectable heartbeat, as Christians, we are obligated to seek God’s demeanor and act in accordance with that.

The law, which was upheld by the Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision, claims to eliminate essentially 85 percent of reported abortions in the state. The rationale behind this theory is that since the law bans abortions after a heartbeat is detected, and most women don’t even know they’re pregnant until after the heartbeat is detected (around six weeks), then once women know they’re pregnant, it’s too late for an abortion.

While this certainly may have the effect of reducing late-term abortions, looking at this from a biblical perspective, one must only conclude that God is not pleased.

This isn’t like a hurricane coming through a town and wiping out thousands of people as we celebrate the fact that we were able to save and evacuate a few hundred of them. While a scenario like this would certainly be cause for celebration, the abortion holocaust is man-made–it is not a natural disaster. We have no right–no right at all–to celebrate a mild reduction in the unrighteous acts of our own depravity. As a nation, we’ve allowed this to happen and God is judging us for it.

We must remember that, again, while some abortions may be stopped, millions of innocent children will still die at the hands of wicked murderers every year by chemical abortion, morning-after pills, and birth control–all while not being reported as “abortions” as the rest of the neo-conservative faux Christians smoke cigars and act as though they’ve achieved something great.

They have not. Millions will still die. The fight is not over. This is no time to celebrate. This is not meant to be judgmental, it’s meant to turn your eyes on the holiness of Christ rather than the “accomplishments” of men.

Put out your cigars and demand that abortions be stopped!

A transforming Christ-meets-mecha toy? Yes, the “Jesus Mecha Christ” transforming toy actually exists. It's like someone sat down and said, “How can I mock both God and basic decency in one fell swoop?” This isn’t art or satire—it’s an abomination born from the unholy...
