Lionheart Church is an up-and-coming prominent church in Austell, GA, and its founding “pastors,” Otha and LaRonna Turnbough, are making names for themselves.
And not for good reason.
In fact, these patently false teachers need to be exposed immediately for who and what they are—blasphemers—and that’s what I plan to do. There is a lot to unpack with some clips I’ve been sorting through, and this one isn’t even the worst.
But up first, “pastor” Otha wants us to know that God’s power is available to us anytime we want it. And we don’t need His permission. We can just take it.

He uses the example of the woman who touched Jesus’s clothes and was healed as his proof text.
The moment I touch his clothes… not Him. The one [woman] with the issue of blood. The moment I touch his clothes… not Him!
See, that’s another lesson. Power does not have to be conjured up. It’s always there waiting on you.
She came up with the idea that she could get healed by touching Jesus’ clothes. She touched his clothes and the power healed her of that ailment. Jesus said, “Who did that?”
Which lets you know that the power of God works without Jesus’ permission.
He then goes on to explain that other people who touch Jesus don’t do so in faith, and that’s why the power that is waiting for them—without Jesus’s permission, who was apparently ignorant of the entire situation until she “revealed” herself to Him—doesn’t always work.
This completely turns the actual point of the passage upside down. When Jesus asked, “Who touched my garments?” He wasn’t expressing ignorance. Similar to when God asked Adam and Eve in the garden, “Where are you?” the question was a summons so that He could confront her personally.
But in this instance, He wanted to affirm her faith publicly and send her away peacefully.
Nothing happened behind Jesus’s back, nothing happened without His knowledge, and nothing happened without His permission. He knew, and not only did he know, but He also ordained and caused the entire scene.
And his confrontation with her was a public declaration that “Daughter, your faith has made you well” (Mark 5:34).
