Russell Moore once congratulated Lecrae when he teamed up with Beyonce—perhaps he didn’t notice that Beyonce is not only the epitome of sexual degradation–she dresses like a prostitute and creates hyper-sexualized music. In reality, he probably just didn’t care. After all, they all have the same leftist agenda, so that’s okay.
But Lecrae has teamed up with another “Christian” rapper to create some pretty gross music. How it passes as “Christian” can only be explained by the deconstruction that these Christian-turned-secular hip-hop artists have turned to. To them, Christianity is something completely different than historic, biblical Christianity. To them, it’s an outlet for launching their music careers and promoting social justice.
It’s why they can write music that objectifies women and the usual left-wing #churchtoo chorus ignores it—because the movement isn’t about justice for actual abuse victims, it’s about deconstructing biblical Christianity, which they hate.
