In the midst of a federal government shutdown, progressive Evangelical leaders from several entities wrote an open letter to President Trump urging him to compromise on conservative ideas and work in a “bipartisan” way to end the government shutdown.

The letter was penned by the George Soros-funded Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT), which is signed by several prominent Evangelical figureheads including Russell Moore of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission(ERLC), Leith Anderson of the National Association of Evangelicals, and Samuel Rodriguez, of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, a group that advocates for open borders and amnesty among illegal immigrants.

The letter urges President Trump to seek a bipartisan solution that, “establishes a path toward legal status and/or citizenship for those who qualify and who wish to become permanent residents,” which it acknowledges that “such a compromise would require both sides to accept provisions that may not be universally popular with their most fervent supporters, but it would resolve a longstanding problem and should also allow our federal government to re-open.”

Russell Moore has been under fire recently for a series of compromises including advocating for foreign aid that would fund abortions overseas instead of spending money on a US/Mexican border wall and signing a statement claiming “common ground” with Muslims.

The recent shift in perspective regarding the border crisis situation is largely due to the massive push by Soros-funded and other progressive groups that have infiltrated the Evangelical Church. The signers of this letter are passionate amnesty supporters who have always advocated for open borders, even going as far as to say that not to do so is an “assault on religious freedom.”
