In the wake of a Kentucky abortion law banning abortions after 15 weeks, the Supreme Court will be hearing legal challenges against the legislation. In the meantime, pro-abortion groups around the state are propagandizing the minds of mothers and others who are considering abortion in an attempt to de-stigmatize the murderous act.
That, in and of itself, is not surprising. But what is surprising is that a group purporting to be pro-faith has taken up the cause of killing children. The group, named Kentucky Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice–a coalition of religious progressives including the Episcopalians, Jewish, Unitarians, and the United Church of Christ–are running a billboard propaganda campaign seeking to indoctrinate the faithful in the pro-abortion cause.
“For too long, America’s religious right has dominated the discussion about abortion, shaming women and telling them that abortion is a sin,” said Rev. Diane Snowa, a board member of the group and spokesperson for the campaign according to Kentucky Today. “The Kentucky Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice wants Kentuckians to hear a different truth: Abortion is a very personal decision, between you and God. Good people have abortions; God knows and loves them.
“For many Kentuckians who have had an abortion – a medical procedure one in four American women will have had by age 45 – this may be the first time they’ve ever heard anything other than that God would disapprove,” Snowa said. “Our message is of a loving God who understands, and who offers free will. Those choosing abortion deserve compassion and love, not shame and harassment.”
