Ryan Visconti, the pastor of Generation Church in Mesa, Arizona, has come out as one of the most vocal opponents to Andy Stanley in the last year, particularly about his views on homosexuality in the context of Christian doctrine and church leadership. His views gained particular attention following a thread he posted on Twitter about a private dinner with other pastors where Andy Stanley, a prominent church leader, discussed his stance on same-sex marriage and the church’s approach to LGBTQ people.

Visconti has expressed serious concern, and rightly so, over Andy Stanley’s unbiblical teachings on sexual ethics and same-sex marriage. On Twitter, Visconti has been on the forefront of this ideological battle against Stanley and his aberrant views, which has sparked outrage and ire against Stanley within the conservative Christian community.

Here are just a few of his tweets:

Being that Visconti is so vocally opposed to Stanley and his false teachings, to the point that he has completely written him off as a wolf in sheep’s clothing (and he is absolutely right about this), this is what makes it so difficult to understand why he could, from the same pulpit, promote Charlie Kirk from Turning Point USA (TPUSA).

This week, pastor Ryan Visconti platformed Charlie Kirk for a TPUSA rally at his church. Charlie Kirk is a snake, a hypocrite, and a two-faced liar. In the video clip below, you can see Kirk, while platformed in front of a Christian church, tell Visconti that he is against homosexual marriage while talking about God’s created order. But then, following that video, are clips of Kirk in other contexts brazenly promoting homosexuals and saying that he doesn’t care what two consenting adults do, and openly welcomes the LGBTQ movement into conservative circles. Is this what Ryan Visconti is about? I hope not, and I hope he will repudiate this and apologize for platforming Kirk. Compromising your biblical views to score political points is NOT conservatism and definitely NOT Christian.
