The Activist Mommy, Elizabeth Johnston, Goes Full NAR With False Prophets, Todd White and Lou Engle

The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a spiritual cult whose roots can be traced back to the New Order of the Latter Rain. The Latter Rain movement, a Pentecostal dominionist movement founded in the 1940s by George R. Hawtin, Herrick Holt, and Percy Hunt, has morphed over the decades into several charismatic movements, of which the most notorious today is the New Apostolic Reformation.

Largely credited with the modern NAR movement is C. Peter Wagner and the movement today consists of many popular charismatic “prophets” and “apostles” including Bethel Church’s Bill Johnson and Kris Vallotton, and others like Paula White, Todd Bentley, Hillsong founder Brian Houston, Lou Engle, and a popular speaker among younger crowds, Todd White, just to name a few.

Of course, biblically speaking, anyone today who is referred to as a “prophet” or an “apostle” today is certainly a false prophet and apostle and this is not only theological but it is also evidenced by the fact that those “prophets” regularly prophesy falsely and their prophecies never come to pass.

Todd White is among the most notorious of these as he consistently proclaims things that are either contrary to Scripture or did not ever happen the way he claimed. White is notorious for his parlor tricks such as leg-lengthening. White will often take to the streets and attempt to make people believe he has the power to heal people by playing with someone’s legs and pretending that he’s making them grow. Of course, that sounds silly, but it’s one of the absurdities of the modern “faith-healer” movement.

White’s understanding of spiritual things is infantile at best. But in reality, the things he preaches are sometimes so outlandish that nobody should take them seriously. Last week, we reported that Todd White blasphemed Jesus by misrepresenting the doctrine of imputation and said that Jesus became the substance of such sins as “child pornography” on the cross. And last year, he preached a sermon where he claimed that Jesus wanted to climb into bed with you while you’re watching porn and be your climax.

He has compared the Holy Spirit to a “pooping dog” and many other blasphemous things. But, most ironically, White believes that he has the power to instantly heal people and repeatedly states that he does this regularly. White, as do most in the charismatic faith-healing movement, claims that people who are ill are that way because of a lack of faith. The utter foolishness of his statements places him outside of the realm of orthodox Christianity, for sure.

Despite all of this, one popular face in the pro-life movement, Elizabeth Johnston—also known as the Activist Mommy—has now apparently joined up with a number of these false prophets including Todd White and Lou Engle.

“There is a historic convergence of pastors, evangelists, mothers, intercessors, prophets and activists,” Johnston writes on her Facebook page while showing pictures of herself with White and Engle, “who understand that the only hope for spiritual awakening and ending abortion is fasting, repentance, sowing in tears, and returning to the Lord. I was incredibly honored to be in this room yesterday.”

It’s really sad to see someone like her who used to be a strong voice in the pro-life movement discredit herself by associating with such nonsense. We call on Johnston to repent of this silliness and stop bringing reproach upon the name of Christ and His Bride by participating in the works of evil men masquerading as angels of light.

And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. —1 Corinthians 11:12-15

The Pontiff Has Fallen—And He Will Not Rise Again

The pontiff is dead. And no, the bells aren’t ringing in triumph—they’re tolling like a funeral dirge for a man whose soul now quakes before the throne of Almighty God. Pope Francis—Rome’s darling, the media’s mascot, the Church of Nice’s poster boy—is gone. And what...
