Russell Moore Speaking at Event in Conjunction With Adoption Agency That Hands Children Over to Homosexuals

We’ve been warning you for months that the gay Evangelical push for inclusion was leading down a dark path that no honest Christian in their right mind could support. A while back, we reported that The Gospel Coalition was platforming a gay Anglican priest, Sam Allberry, to push not only for homosexual inclusion in churches and church families but also for churches to back gay, single-parent adoption.

One particular notion that The Gospel Coalition and the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) have been pushing in recent months is the adoption of a new type of family, a “communal” family — discarding the notion of the nuclear family as idolatry. Sam Allberry has been a close friend to not only The Gospel Coalition, but the ERLC headed up by Russell Moore. Last year, Allberry was invited to speak at the ERLC conference whereby he advocated for the redefinition of the family — favoring the “church family” over the nuclear family.

Allberry describes himself as someone who has “sexual, romantic and deep-emotional attractions to people of the same sex.” While Allberry is insistent that he does not act — physically — on his sexual desires, he does deny that his desires could ever change.

In short, the push for homosexual inclusion in the Church has been a primary focus of these progressive outlets.

Russell Moore is now headed to Dordt University, a private Christian university in Sioux Center, Iowa. Dordt is part of the Christian Reformed Church — a progressive denomination that has taken stands on issues such as homosexuality that are more in line with culture than biblical truth. Dordt University is hosting an adoption event — in Russell Moore’s name — in conjunction with Bethany Christian Services adoption agency. The Event, Adopted For Life, which is also the title of his book, will be held on September 2nd.

If you think that sounds great, think again. A few months ago, Bethany Christian Services announced that it would begin handing children over to homosexuals after some employees threatened to quit if they didn’t. Citing a court ruling that adoption agencies who receive monetary support from the state of Michigan must adopt children to anyone, including gays, Bethany opted for the money instead of the well-being of the children.

Jonathan Merritt once served on the national board of directors for Bethany. (It is unclear if he still serves on the board, some bios say that he does.) Merritt is the gay son of former Southern Baptist President, James Merritt. Now, why wouldn’t we want to support an adoption agency with homosexuals on its board who hands children over to homosexual couples?

Let that sink in.

While it may seem honorable to persuade Christians to adopt children, it must be noted that it is not in the best interest of children to be handed over to homosexuals under any circumstances — it would be better for them to remain in the orphanage.
