You’re probably aware by now of the circus that the Southern Baptist Convention’s presidential race has become. Set to be held in Anaheim this June, the three candidates now include Tom Ascol, the most well-known conservative candidate, Robin Hadaway, who we do not know much about but who appears to be devoted to missions and Evangelism, and, of course, Bart Barber—who was the Establishment’s choice to replace Willy Rice after he bailed out of the race.
But it isn’t around the better candidates that the circus of applause surrounds. It’s always around the woke Establishment’s choices; their choices appear to become worse and worse every year. And their current choice, Bart Barber, is strikingly similar to the Democrat’s choice for the U.S. presidency, Joe Biden.
In fact, Barber is literally the perfect establishment candidate for the Southern Baptist Convention elite club. He’s willing to do whatever he’s told and has no real convictions about anything. He’s simply the marionette on the stage with the puppetmasters pulling his strings—just like Joe Biden.
What’s most sad about the whole charade: he actually has a very high chance of pulling off a win. After all, he has all the SBC money-changers behind him.

Nevertheless, we feel the need to continue to report to you on who Barber is. Vetting these candidates is wholly necessary and, well, there’s simply a smorgasbord of disqualifications in Barber’s history. Besides the fact that, as we’ve already reported, defends plagiarism and pushes woke ideologies, he also has a hard time understanding the essentials of the Christian faith, particularly, why Evangelicals and Protestants do not consider Roman Catholicism’s gospel to be true.
I was reminded of an interaction on Twitter dating back to 2015 where Barber actually defended finding a Catholic priest for a dying woman in a hospital. When pressed on why he would support the efforts to find her this priest, his response was actually quite shocking: “she’s dying, I’m inclined not to be a jerk.”
One would think that if Barber actually believed the gospel, finding a woman a Catholic priest would be about the most irresponsible thing a Christian pastor could do. Talk about being a jerk! Go ahead, send this woman to Hell by giving her a false sense of security.
