Tyler Perry, self-proclaimed Christian philanthropist, sure has a funny way of showing it. This is the same man who shelled out a cool million to T.D. Jakes, a false teacher infamous for his “prosperity gospel” and who has lately been caught up in the swirling scandal surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs—a scandal where morality seems to be as absent as Perry’s discernment.

And let’s not forget his magnanimous gift of $100,000 to Carl Lentz, the befallen pastor known more for his extramarital sex scandals than any genuine preaching of the gospel. Is Perry drawn to these figures because he sees a bit of himself in them, or is he just woefully out of touch with what the faith he claims to follow actually teaches?

Clearly, both.

Unsurprisingly, Perry was recently caught during an escapade (don’t click that link, it’s only there for journalistic integrity) at Usher’s concert. Perry, in a display of “generosity,” tossed fake “Usher Bucks” at strippers while they performed on stage.

How rich—literally! The same man who once stood on stage, laying hands on T.D. Jakes as though he were an anointed saint, is also laying hands who knows where, making it rain with Monopoly money at a strip show.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Tyler Perry. Or maybe it’s just that Perry’s money isn’t as abundant as his false virtue signaling would have us believe?

But of course, he’s approved by the official magazine of Charismania. Charisma Magazine, a publication run by gullible charismatics, has repeatedly praised Perry as a God-fearing, “spirit-filled,” generous man.

Yes, this is the very Michael Brown-approved publication that holds up Perry as a model Christian, lauding his “spirit-filled” persona as if his latest escapades are just lapses in judgment rather than the blatant hypocrisy they so clearly are.

Are we supposed to believe that Perry, with his gilded sermons about God and success, actually cares about anything more than boosting his public image? Or is his faith just as fake as those Usher Bucks he so lavishly scattered?

Perry’s game is as transparent as it is predictable to any discerning Christian—an empty show of faith cloaked in million-dollar donations and public displays. But why do these people fool so many? This is no disciple of Christ, no man of God, and surely no prophet or apostle. This is an entertainer who can’t even keep his own stage.

Tyler Perry may be laughing all the way to the bank, but he’s leaving a trail of compromised values and empty promises in his wake. And the saddest part? He’s laughing at those who still think he’s real.
