In 2019, Kroger was sued for religious discrimination after firing two employees who worked at a Kroger store in Conway, Arkansas who refused to wear the store’s rainbow-pride adorned aprons during working hours. According to a press release at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the store is settling with the plaintiffs for 180 thousand dollars.

According to the lawsuit filed by the EEOC on behalf of the employees, the store “engaged in religious discrimination when it disciplined and ultimately fired the employees for refusing to wear an apron with the company’s Our Promise’ symbol because they believed it represented support for the LGBTQ+ community.” Kroger denied the allegations but chose to settle outside of court in exchange for paying the fine and creating a policy to allow for religious exemptions.

“The EEOC commends Kroger on its decision to create a policy describing the process for requesting a religious accommodation,” said Faye A. Williams, regional attorney of the EEOC’s Memphis District Office, which has jurisdiction over Arkansas, Tennessee and portions of Mississippi. “This policy will provide guidelines for requesting religious accommodation. The parties in the case worked in good faith to resolve this matter, and the Commission is pleased with the resolution.”

This kind of religious discrimination against conservative Christians will likely continue to get worse. The Democrat party in America is hell-bent on destroying religious freedom in this nation and they’re largely being aided and abeted by Evangelical leaders who are afraid to speak out against the influx of progressive politics within the walls of the Church. During the 2020 election cycle, popular pastor and author, David Platt, said during a sermon that if you didn’t believe you could be in the same church as pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ, anti-religious freedom Democrat voters, then “Mclean Bible Church may not be the right church for you.”

Other popular Evangelical leaders like SBC seminary professor, Thomas Kidd said that he would “bless” people who voted for Biden and former SBC president JD Greear attempted to persuade Christians to believe that one could vote either Republican or Democrat–even stating that voting for the Democrat would be “great”–and that either choice would be acceptable among Christians. And both Mark Dever, a Southern Baptist pastor and president of 9Marks as well as Tim Keller are registered Democrats.
