Reformation Charlotte has been warning for several years that the Evangelical Church has been quickly drifting to the left at an alarming rate. The vast majority of Southern Baptist leaders have embraced a leftist political movement that seeks to exchange the gospel for social justice activism and leftist ideology.
It should now come as no surprise why David Platt, one of the most esteemed leaders in the denomination, has announced that those who oppose Democrats in his church don’t belong in his church.
Here’s why.
Leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention are increasingly open about their support for Democrat politics and candidates. One of those appears to be Mark Dever, pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church and a close neighbor of David Platt’s McLean Bible Church in the Washington D.C. metro area. Recently, Judd Saul published his public finding that Mark Dever isn’t just a leftist — but apparently, he’s a registered Democrat. According to information published by Saul, Mark Dever is a card-carrying member of the Democrat party.

Some people close to Dever are saying that Dever is denying this information, however, this information is publicly verifiable with public information on the government website. This information comes as not only Dever but unsurprisingly, Tim Keller, too, is apparently a registered Democrat.
No wonder all these Southern Baptist leaders are acting like Democrats. It’s because they are Democrats. Russell Moore, head of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission was a former Democrat staffer for Democrat Congressman, Gene Taylor.
