Last month, The Dissenter reported on the newly-proposed partnership between the Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Mission Board (NAMB) and a heretical “evangelism” ministry called He Gets Us. He Gets Us, as we demonstrated, is not only a gay-affirming ministry that will help you find a pro-LGBTQ church, but it also preaches a false gospel of inclusivism. He Gets Us is essentially a PR campaign for Jesus that attempts to make Jesus more palatable to the world.

NAMB, which is led by Kevin Ezell, has a historical pattern of partnering with organizations without doing his due diligence. For example, NAMB is still in partnership with a major megachurch in Florida that is regularly baptizing openly practicing and unrepentant homosexuals to plant churches. NAMB also regularly plants churches with women pastors in opposition to the SBC’s statement of faith.

So it really came as no surprise that Ezell was more than willing to jump on board with a false Christian ministry designed to smear conservative Christianity while making Jesus look like a great social justice leader.

Thankfully, however, there was enough pushback against Ezell’s new proposed partnership with He Gets Us after The Dissenter and others exposed the false gospel and heresy of this ministry publicly. Ezell released a statement apologizing for not doing his due diligence, stating “upon further consideration, the effort is too broad for us to directly connect with the campaign. In my desire to help our churches, I did less diligence than I should have. That’s on me and I apologize.”

Tom Rush went on the Wokepedia podcast to discuss NAMB, He Gets Us, and the Southern Baptist Convention. Rush expressed his thankfulness that Ezell pulled out of the proposed partnership with He Gets Us but also his frustration that Ezell was unwilling to denounce the group as holding to a false gospel. “I’d rather people not hear the gospel at all than to hear a false gospel,” Rush said. Rush called on Kevin Ezell to resign.

Check Out the New “Jesus Mecha Christ” “Transformer” Toy

A transforming Christ-meets-mecha toy? Yes, the “Jesus Mecha Christ” transforming toy actually exists. It's like someone sat down and said, “How can I mock both God and basic decency in one fell swoop?” This isn’t art or satire—it’s an abomination born from the unholy...

Christmas Hymn Review: Away in a Manger

Christmas Song Review: Yes, Mary Did Know

Don’t Lose Sight of the Gospel in the Incarnation of Christ

Christmas is upon us again—the season of twinkling lights, cheerful songs, endless shopping, and, yes, Santa with his elves performing acrobatics on our bookshelves. The world, predictably, is consumed with the “season” itself, offering little more than cheap...
