Conservative Southern Baptists Calls for Boycott of Disney In Wake of Child-Grooming Revelations

by | Apr 1, 2022 | LGBTQ Issues, News, Social-Issues, The Church | 0 comments

Even though today is April 1, we need not make outlandish things up in order to demonstrate the foolishness and absurdity this world has come to. The insanity has reached never-before-seen heights and depths as not only the secular world, but even that which professes to be the Bride of Christ has embraced a level of debauchery that should make any sane person’s head spin.

As has been reported everywhere, Disney recently announced that their new and openly stated goal is to indoctrinate your children into an LGBTQ lifestyle and by the end of 2022, at least 50 percent of Disney characters will represent the LGBTQ or racial minority communities.

Despite this, the Southern Baptist Convention’s executive committee is still encouraging families that are attending the annual meeting in Anaheim this summer to visit Disneyland; and even partnering with Disney to offer discounted rates.

The reality is that the Christian Church, especially the so-called conservative Southern Baptists, should not only be speaking out against this depravity that threatens to destroy the innocence of millions of children in America and billions around the world but should certainly not be promoting it.

At least one conservative group within the Southern Baptist Convention is now speaking out against it—needless to say, it’s the Conservative Baptist Network.

The Conservative Baptist Network (CBN), which is led by conservative leaders from various theological bents ranging from Reformed to Traditionalist, has partnered together to form an activist group to promote traditional, biblical values and ideologies while rejecting progressive movements within the denomination. CBN recently announced the nomination of Reformed pastor, Tom Ascol, to the running for the Southern Baptist presidency. Also announced was the nomination of Voddie Baucham for president of the Pastors’ Conference.

This group has just released a statement not only condemning Disney’s recent revelations of their agenda but also called on Southern Baptists to avoid Disney and find other family activities to do instead.

“We call on Disney to reverse course and stop its explicit assault on parents’ rights and its assault on children,” the statement on the CBN website reads. “Until then, we cannot, in good conscience and Christian witness, encourage fellow Southern Baptists to support a company bent on this ideological course.”

The statement continued, “While Southern Baptist Convention leaders have announced an arrangement with Disney that offers messengers attending the SBC Annual Meeting in Anaheim discounted tickets to Disneyland this summer, the Conservative Baptist Network urges Southern Baptists to choose another family activity rather than support the anti-biblical agenda now clearly present within the Disney corporation.”

Imagine if all Southern Baptist leaders were as principled as the men from the Conservative Baptist Network.

Check Out the New “Jesus Mecha Christ” “Transformer” Toy

A transforming Christ-meets-mecha toy? Yes, the “Jesus Mecha Christ” transforming toy actually exists. It's like someone sat down and said, “How can I mock both God and basic decency in one fell swoop?” This isn’t art or satire—it’s an abomination born from the unholy...

Christmas Hymn Review: Away in a Manger

Previously, I wrote an article calling for discernment while scrutinizing the lyrics of the popular Christmas song, Mary Did You Know? I knew it would be a provocative piece, as it was meant to be. However, my intent was not to dissuade you from enjoying these tunes,...

Christmas Song Review: Yes, Mary Did Know

Don’t Lose Sight of the Gospel in the Incarnation of Christ

Christmas is upon us again—the season of twinkling lights, cheerful songs, endless shopping, and, yes, Santa with his elves performing acrobatics on our bookshelves. The world, predictably, is consumed with the “season” itself, offering little more than cheap...
