Pastor Sings Re-worked Social Justice Version of “Mary Did You Know?” to Congregation

A pastor of a United Methodist Church sings a re-worked rendition of the popular Christmas song, Mary Did You Know? to his congregation. Duane Anders, the senior pastor of Cathedral of the Rockies, a multi-campus UMC church in Boise, Idaho, sang the rendition this past Sunday during worship.

Sounding more like a Roman Catholic than an Evangelical or a Protestant, while preaching a sermon on how Mary is ultimately responsible for the salvation (liberation from oppression) of the world, he broke out into song:

Mary did you know,
that your lullaby
would stir your own Child’s passion?

Mary did you know,
that your song inspires
the work of liberation?
