Andy Stanley, a false teacher and rank heretic who preaches a false gospel daily, says that it is good for the Church to stop meeting for the “benefit of the community.”
If you think that sounds stupid, it’s because it is stupid and has absolutely no basis at all, whatsoever, in Scripture.
But, let’s just say that in one sense, he is correct. It is certainly beneficial to everyone that Stanley’s church does not meet. But in a general sense, for the Church as a whole, what Stanley said is, well, stupid. In fact, it is the exact opposite of what we find in Scripture. The Scripture doesn’t just allow us to meet–it commands us to meet.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. –Hebrews 10:24-25

“As is the habit of some,” as the writer of Hebrews is referencing, are those like Andy Stanley, who believe that not meeting together is a positive benefit for the community. Of course, the Scriptures have denounced Andy Stanley’s idiotic beliefs on more than one occasion.
How can Christians stir up one another to love and good works if they’re not meeting? This is what God has chosen for His people. Not meeting is disobedience and those who are still in Andy Stanley’s church, consider this a blessing in disguise–and opportunity to repent–and come out of that harlot before you become partakers in her sins (Revelation 18:4).
