In the succession of presidents in what amounts to the equivalent of the papacy in the Southern Baptist Convention, it would admittedly be difficult to trump his predecessors as it relates to theological ineptitude and general disqualification to lead their own church, let alone an entire denomination, the newly-elected president, Ed Litton, has managed to find a way to do so.

Ed Litton has been under fire ever since Reformation Charlotte broke the story that he had taken sound bites–and terrible ones at that–and essentially plagiarized former president JD Greear in a sermon downplaying the sinfulness of homosexuality by insisting that the Bible only “whispers” about it. Since the story broke, several major news outlets picked up our story and the news then went viral. Some savvy social media users were able to piece together clips from his entire sermon with Greear’s entire sermon, showing that the two sermons were nearly identical. That Greear preached his a few months prior, it became obvious that Litton ripped off Greear’s (awful) sermon.

The publicity caused both Litton and Greear to issue a statement acknowledging–and excusing–the plagiarism. Yet, despite the apology, Litton removed all of his available sermons from YouTube which, at the time, numbered around 144.

And, despite the apology and acknowledgment, it appears that Litton is still at it as the sermon he preached as recently as yesterday–nearly a week after his apology statement–also appears to be plagiarized. Justin Peters exposes this in detail. We recommend listening to this expose in its entirety as Justin has done an exemplary job of breaking this down both theologically and practically.

Below is Justin’s video directly time-stamped at 36:24 mark where Ed Litton plagiarizes a woman named Nancy Hicks. However, you should definitely listen to the entire presentation.
