False prophets are not just figures of speech used to illustrate Old Testament and Early Church errors and heresies–they are prevalent and walking among us today. They are in our churches, they are in our government, they are all over our television screens. They are in practically every part of our lives, daily.
Without discernment, it could be easy to be swept away among the seductive, man-centered false gospels these ravenous wolves bring to so many people. But Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and many others warned us and calls us to warn others.
“Even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:8-9).
Here, Justin Peters and Voddie Baucham address the voices in the heads of false prophets who speak presumptuously in the name of God; those voices are not God.
