My wife once bought a set of Dutch sheets. Personally, I didn’t think they were all that comfortable. But apparently, they are known for their high-quality, all-natural materials like premium flax linen, sateen blends, and crisp cotton percale.

I’m just kidding…I had to Google all that to come up with that stupid joke.

But I recently found out that there is a charismatic blowhard out there whose name is…wait for it…Dutch Sheets.

Yep, that’s his name. And his latest “prophetic decree” is that it is God’s will for Trump to “cut off the head of the serpent”and the serpent is Iran.

Sheets talked about two supposed “prophetic dreams” involving Iran. One, he attributed to another charismatic “prophet” who claims he was standing on an aircraft carrier in the Strait of Hormuz while they launched a “spiritual attack” on the “dome of oppression” in Iran. They stood there and watched this structure, whatever it is, break apart while some news reporter appears on giant flatscreen TVs aboard this vessel and announced:

“The strike has been successful! The dome of oppression has been broken, and a great light has shined on the people of this region! There is great rejoicing! It’s like the people can see again. It’s like they have come alive! All I can say is, ‘What a difference a day makes!’”

He calls this an “obvious confirmation” that God specifically planned his prayer gathering and the decrees to destroy the spiritual powers behind Iran’s regime.

Now, personally, I believe Iran is a wicked regime. I believe Islam, just like Talmudic Judaism, Buddhism, or any other false religion, including secularism, is wicked. And a government that is run by wicked people who enforce wicked religious views and statutes is wicked.

That being said, Christians still debate whether or not attacking Iran is morally or even strategically justified. The religion behind the American regime is no less wicked than the religion behind Iran’s—and the church has no business summoning the civil government to carry out religious wars.

But if it is strategically justified to do so, meaning if it is in the best interest of our nation to preserve our freedom, our resources, and our way of life, we can still debate the justification of it.

But this clown bypasses the entire debate by pretending that God has disclosed the answer to these charismatic windbags through “prophetic dreams.” He turns his own personal political views into divine revelation and then declares that the Christians can have “zero doubt” that this is all from God. And who wants to oppose God, right?

Effectively, he binds the conscience of Christians by claiming prophetic revelation from God where Scripture has not spoken. And this carries the implication that if you disagree with these clowns, you disagree with God Himself.

God has revealed His will to us in Scripture. And the only thing in all of this that Christians can have “zero doubt” about is that neither Dutch Sheets nor any of these other blabbermouths speak for God.

Why Are Evangelicals Preaching Dolly Parton Into Heaven?

I’ll be the first to admit that Dolly Parton had a very likeable persona about her. She seemed very genuine, real, down-to-earth, and lovable. She seemed to genuinely care about people and want the best for them. And her music often reflected that. Dolly Parton passed...

Did the Serpent Actually Say?

Did the Serpent Actually Say?

That’s what she is … a serpent. And what she said is exactly what you would expect from a woman cosplaying as one of Satan’s pastors. The oldest sin recorded in the Scriptures is questioning God. In Genesis 3:1, the serpent presents the question to the woman, “Did God...

Can We Get Over John Piper Already?

It seems that over the last several years, Evangelicalism has taken a sharp turn in leadership, leaving many empty chairs that were once filled with prominent voices. I think this turn started in 2017 when we lost R.C. Sproul. He was a voice the church looked to for...

Heresy of the Day #24: Generational Curses
