You can learn a great deal about whether a movement is making progress by watching who suddenly feels compelled to denounce it.

Rebecca Todd Peters, A PCUSA “pastor” standing behind a church pulpit wearing a Planned Parenthood stole, isn’t lamenting a fringe movement destined to fail. She’s warning her audience about a movement she believes is gaining ground.

She spent several minutes naming bills, naming organizations, naming conferences, naming leaders, and urging resistance because she recognizes something many of the movement’s critics do—the abolitionist message is spreading.

If it weren’t, there would be no reason for the alarm.

When political activists have to cosplay as “pastors” and defend the slaughter of innocent babies from the pulpit while warning congregations about Christians seeking legal protection for the unborn, they’ve unintentionally offered a compliment to the very people they oppose.

Opposition of this kind isn’t evidence of failure. It’s evidence that the work is working. And if those most committed to preserving this heinous, ritualistic crime against humanity are increasingly anxious about abolition, that alone suggests the abolitionists are accomplishing far more than their critics would like to admit.
