Hollywood Brings Us Most Blasphemous Mockery of Christ Yet

The Hollywood Bowl has never been shy about mocking God, but this summer it outdid itself. Jesus Christ Superstar was dragged back onto the stage, only this time the crown was handed to Cynthia Erivo, a black lesbian actress who strutted as “Jesus,” while Adam Lambert played Judas. The lights blazed, the crowd cheered…and the gospel itself was thrown under the bus.

Erivo knew the outrage was coming. But she grinned, shrugged, and brushed it off with a smug “Why not?” Her explanation was simple enough. Broadway is “the gayest place on Earth.” That was her sermon. Not the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, but a flippant laugh delivered in rhinestones.

The crowd loved it, of course, because they weren’t there to worship Christ. They were there to watch Him be mocked.

This was just a tired woke ritual. The show preached nothing of forgiveness, nothing of redemption. Instead, it dressed sexual anarchy in sequins and called it holy. You could even argue the stage smelled like sulfur, with every spotlight advertising the same hollow creed…you can have your Christ, as long as He looks like us.

The casting told the real story. This wasn’t about talent. It was about catechism. A queer, black, female Christ was the idol they chose, the crowning jewel of their woke religion. The audience clapped and cheered for their new messiah, a glittering mascot who affirmed their sins and smirked at the idea of grace.

And despite what our Evangelical leaders cry, Romans 1 was not whispered in the background. It was shouted from the stage. The truth was exchanged for a lie, and the crowd roared its approval. There was no cross to carry, no blood to cover sins, no gospel to believe. Just a counterfeit savior leading a counterfeit church in counterfeit worship.

They call this progress. What it really is can’t be hidden under stage lights. It’s a satanic parody of the gospel. They can laugh, clap, and mock all they want. Christ still reigns, unshaken and untouchable. The empty tomb is not a stage prop. The throne of heaven is not up for recasting. And no amount of glitter will cover the coming judgment.

Over Easter—of all times—spiritual charlatan, Paula White, stood in front of cameras and compared Donald Trump to Christ. Not subtly. Not loosely. Directly. She took the betrayal, the suffering, the cost, the language that belongs to the cross alone—and laid it at the...
