Trump Bans “Preferred Pronouns” in Federal Employee’s Email Signatures

For years, the federal government has indulged in a fantasy—one where reality is subjective, identity is fluid, and personal validation is the highest virtue. But not anymore. In a simple yet profound executive order, President Trump has done what should have been done long ago…he has ordered federal employees to strip pronouns from their email signatures.

At first glance, this might seem trivial—just a minor policy change with a little virtue signaling mixed in. But in reality, it is a seismic shift, a declaration that the United States government will no longer be a willing participant in the ideological charade that has gripped our institutions.

No more state-sponsored delusions.

No more ideological purity tests masquerading as professional etiquette.

No more forced compliance with the ever-expanding, self-contradictory rules of the identity-obsessed left.

This is a return to sanity.

Consider what it means when government employees no longer list their pronouns in official correspondence. It means the end of the silly, reality-defying games that force everyone to pretend that a man can be a woman just because he says so.

It means that the federal workforce is refocusing on what matters—competence, efficiency, and service to the American people—rather than broadcasting personal identity politics and sexual delusions under the guise of progress. It means that taxpayers are no longer funding an implicit endorsement of gender ideology in every government email.

For years, these “gender” pronouns, many of them completely made up, sprinkled through social media bios and email signatures, have served no practical function outside of an ideological litmus test.

In most cases, they have been, at best, redundant—after all, if someone is named John, we already know he’s a he, and if someone is named Elizabeth, unless his parents were just evil, we can reasonably assume she’s a she. The vast majority of the time, pronouns in signatures are a solution in search of a problem, a forced ritual rather than a necessity.

Their primary purpose has been political, a badge of ideological conformity, a shibboleth that signals where one stands on the broader culture war. If someone has their pronouns listed, you can predict—almost with complete accuracy—what their stances are on every major social and political matter.

By removing this nonsense, the Trump administration is reasserting objectivity. It is declaring, without apology, that there is a difference between reality and fantasy. Government emails are not billboards for expressing personal grand delusions. They are not social justice statements. They are not a platform for employees to signal their virtue. They are a tool for conducting the business of the American people, and they should be treated as such.

This move is good because it eliminates distractions. Instead of focusing on whether a colleague will take offense at being “misgendered,” employees can focus on doing their jobs. It restores sanity and neutrality in the workplace, ensuring that our government does not privilege such delusional ideological factions over normal people.

It prevents government employees from being coerced into participating in a linguistic farce they do not believe in. And, most importantly, it sends a powerful message, that the United States government still acknowledges objective reality.

From a biblical, conservative worldview, this is a step toward restoring a culture of truth. Scripture teaches that God created mankind male and female (Genesis 1:27). It does not teach that gender is an internal identity to be declared at will nor does it endorse the notion that biological reality is subjective.

It does not affirm the ever-changing demands of gender activists who, let’s face it, really want nothing more than unfettered access to your children to corrupt them—mind, body, and spirit.

To indulge these fantasies is to reject the created order and replace it with a lie. When a government institutionalizes those lies or even allows it to fester in its presence unchecked, which it has done for years, it becomes complicit in deception.

When it refuses to do so, it reclaims truth.

A strong society is built on objective reality, not subjective anarchy. A strong society rewards merit, not ideological compliance. A strong society does not force its members to affirm things they know to be false. Today, we take one more step toward that strength.

No more compulsory illusions. No more taxpayer-funded absurdity. No more bending the knee to the ideological impulses of a handful of delusional blowhards at the expense of the many.

Hopefully, America is moving back toward reality—and it’s about time.

Can We Get Over John Piper Already?

It seems that over the last several years, Evangelicalism has taken a sharp turn in leadership, leaving many empty chairs that were once filled with prominent voices. I think this turn started in 2017 when we lost R.C. Sproul. He was a voice the church looked to for...
