On April 6, the Assembly of the Kenai Peninsula Borough in Alaska began its meeting with a Luciferian prayer to Satan. The prayer was given by Iris Fontana, a member of the Satanic Temple.

Fontana began by calling on the Assembly to “stand now unbowed and unfettered by arcane doctrines born of fearful minds and darkened times.” She continued, “Let us embrace the Luciferian impulse to eat of the tree of knowledge and dispel our blissful and comforting delusions.”

“Let us demand that individuals be judged for their actions, not their fidelity to social norms and meaningless categories,” Fontana continued. “It is done. Hail Satan.”
