Recently, the Southern Baptist President, JD Greear announced that it is okay for Christians to vote for Democrats who support abortion so long as they say they are against abortion. In an interview with the Christian Post, Greear stated,
… if at the end of the day you look at it and feel like whoever the Democratic candidate is, you feel like that of all the different things, this is the better of the options, well that’s great. Make sure you’re clear about the wickedness of abortion. Make sure you’re clear about the preciousness of religious liberty and the right of conscience, and the fact that people need to have the dignity to make their own choices and to provide for themselves. Just make sure you’re clear about whatever it is that is on the other side from where you voted.
Earlier this year, Greear preached a sermon which equated sexual immorality and homosexuality with less grievous sins such as boasting. Later in the same sermon, he called on Christians to stand up for LGBT rights.
In 2016, another prominent Southern Baptist leader, a protege of Mark Dever and 9Marks, Thabiti Anyabwile announced on Twitter that the pro-infanticide Democrat, Bernie Sanders, was the best vote for African Americans.
Bible-believing Christians have been arguing for years that voting for a Democrat is wicked. It’s one thing to suppress your vote and remain apolitical, but to deliberately vote for a Democrat for the purpose of placing him or her in office is a deliberate vote for Satan. Those who support or vote for Democrats are voting for ethnic and racial genocide, as in the video of Bernie Sanders below.

Let’s be clear: your political positions, activism, or support have no bearing on your salvation–zero. However, if you claim to be a Christian, transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and bought by the blood of Jesus Christ, the Scriptures say that you will be given a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26) and you are being sanctified unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). So let me spell this out for you. This means you cannot be a Christian while supporting the slaughter of innocent children, gay rights, gay propaganda, “gay Christianity,” theft (redistribution of wealth), lawlessness (i.e. open borders), a complete and total lack of individual responsibility (i.e. nanny state welfare system, single-payer insurance, etc.), or the endless sweeping away of our right to worship God freely. If you support this godless ideology, or support candidates that do, don’t expect me to treat you as a fellow Christian.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not shilling for the Republican party. I realize that the Republican party is corrupt, inside and out. However, there is not an official push–at least not right now–in the Republican party to stand against and oppose every single one of God’s moral laws. Conservatism doesn’t save, only Jesus Christ does. But if you understand the gospel, then you can’t deny that the gospel produces conservatism as its fruit.
