The cult that is known as Bethel Church in Redding, CA has been on a non-stop mission since one of the worship leaders lost her two-year-old daughter this past Saturday. Bethel, a charismatic New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) church teaches the heresy that in modern times, apostles, prophets, and healers exist in the church just like the original prophets and apostles of the early church. Despite not one shred of evidence of the continuation of any spiritual gift that is even remotely similar to those of the early church, the movement is growing and gaining in popularity today — leading many astray.

The church, which is led by senior “apostle” Bill Johnson and his right-hand man, “apostle” Kris Vallotton, have been leading this poor woman, Kalley Heiligenthal, who lost her daughter to continue to expect that she will be raised from the dead. She has been dead for five days now, and this church has not once helped this family grieve in a biblical and godly way, but are continuing to prolong her idolatry, blasphemy, and sinfulness.

A video recently surfaced of the church and its members continue to perform what looks to be like a witch’s seance by repeating chants and repetitive prayers — like those we’re forbidden by Scripture to do (Matthew 6:7) — by calling the toddler, Olive Alayne, from the grave. Sadly, this child is not going to come back to life (though I believe she has life in Heaven with Jesus). And when this “miracle” doesn’t happen, it’s going to wreck the faith of countless people because they’ve been led to believe that this is what Christianity is.
