The usual evangelical race-baiters like Kyle Howard, Thabiti Anyabwile, and the rest of their ilk never fail to seize the opportunity a crisis presents to advance their narrative of “white privilege” and “white supremacy.” In fact, so much so that Kyle Howard — who sits at the table with Southern Baptist Ethicist Russell Moore — actually expressed his frustration that white people aren’t “gunned down” by police enough when committing mass murders.

*Disclaimer: I would not be bothered if all mass murderers were gunned down by the police and I am not going to discriminate based on race.

Here’s Howard’s tweet:

Howard asserts that mass shooters are “pretty much always white.” But what do the statistics actually say? Well, let’s look. According to the website, Statistica,

The statistic shows the number of mass shootings in the United States between 1982 and February 15, 2019, by race and ethnicity of the shooter(s). Between 1982 and February 2019, 62 out of 110 mass shootings were initiated by White shooters. The Las Vegas strip massacre in 2017 had the highest number of victims between 1982 and 2018, with 58 people killed, and over 500 injured.

And what do the numbers actually show? It actually shows that black men are overrepresented in mass shootings. While the majority of mass shooters are white, statistically speaking, the number is in line with the overall population of white men. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of white Americans is 76 percent, while the percentage of white mass shooters is 62 percent. The percentage of black Americans is 13 percent, while the percentage of black mass shooters is 18 percent.

The facts don’t lie. While we condemn every and all forms of violence, be it racially motivated or not, to insist that white people do more killing because of “white privilege” or “white supremacy” is simply absurd.

Beth Moore implying that mass shootings are caused by “white supremacists” using the gospel to try to defend it. Anyabwile retweets.

Yes, there are racist white people who kill people. These are obviously deranged people. Beth Moore signals her virtue by using the opportunity to distance herself from “whiteness” while receiving the accolades of thousands. But there are also racist black people who kill people. Interestingly, Howard, Anyabwile, Beth Moore, and all the usual race-baiters were silent when it was reported that this black premeditatively went to the Mall of America and threw a 5-year-old white boy off the third-floor balcony right in front of his mother. Where was the outrage then?

Bottom line? Murder isn’t about whiteness, or blackness, or any other form of racial superiority. This is simply a lie that the progressive left has seized to advance a particular agenda. Murder is about sin and the answer isn’t gun-control, dismantling whiteness, or warring for social justice — it’s about the gospel.
