Russell Moore’s George Soros-Funded Group Releases E-Book Calling For Amnesty

It is a documented, proven fact — not a conspiracy theory — that the Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT), of which Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) is a head — receives funding from George Soros. The ERLC and Russell Moore have never had to answer for this. Literally, no notable leader in the Southern Baptist Convention or any other prominent Evangelical group has called on Russell Moore to answer for this treason.

It has long been known that the Evangelical Immigration Table has been a progressive front group whose sole purpose is to influence Evangelicals to the liberal left on the issue of immigration. Its agenda is open borders and globalism. We have been reporting on this for years. Now, the EIT has released a 42-page E-book calling on Christians to support amnesty for illegal immigrants framing it as “biblical” and “loving your neighbor.”

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

Romans 13:1-2

In this E-book, entitled Thinking Biblically About Immigrants and Immigration Reform, Russell Moore, Samuel Rodriguez, and other progressive heads of the EIT argue that God’s people are told to love immigrants “as themselves” because “they knew firsthand what it is like to dwell in a land that was not their own.” Quoting Leviticus, it says, “when a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”

As is typical for these progressives, the issue is framed as a “gospel issue.” The asininity behind the notion that God calls Christians to support amnesty for criminals who enter the country illegally is baffling beyond words. Loving people and supporting the rule of law are not mutually exclusive — yet this is the entire premise of the Evangelical open-borders argument. The E-book absurdly argues that referring to illegals as “aliens” causes people to think of them as green Martians,

Using language that compares immigrants to vermin or other animals, for example, is inherently dehumanizing. Even referring to immigrants as “aliens,” though that is the terminology used by many U.S. laws and by older English translations of the Bible, leads many contemporary speakers of English to conjure up “Hollywood-induced images of three-headed green Martians” rather than human beings made in God’s image

The progressive Evangelical left continuously try to paint illegals as “sojourners” or “refugees” when in fact they are far from what the Bible describes as these types of people. Illegal immigrants are not “sojourners,” they are criminals. Sojourners would be migrants who’ve entered the country legally, have the proper documentation, and leave at the appropriated time. They have broken the law by crossing the border illegally and, if you really want to think biblically, God has called on the civil government to wield the sword of justice.

It is not the job of the government to demonstrate mercy nor should Christians be calling on the government to do so. God is just and God has chosen the civil government to model this attribute of Him. If Christians want to display God’s attribute of mercy, give them a bottle of water and a gospel tract as they are deported back to their country. This is how to think about illegal immigration biblically.

This is more of what Southern Baptists and Evangelicals are paying for. Is this what you want?
