“David Hughes, the ‘pastor’ of Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, FL, has turned this ‘church’ into nothing short of a circus. Instead of nourishing souls with the gospel, Hughes seems more concerned with putting on a show. When a church trades the pulpit for a stage and the Bible for theatrics, you know you’ve completely lost it in terms of what church should be.”
Keep in mind, this is the same church that opened a “worship” service with Kendrick Lamar’s explicit “N95,” and blasted secular rave music by DJ John Summit—promoter of drug use—as “worship.” Then there was the Sunday they went full Disney Week with a rendition of The Little Mermaid, and another where they sang Beyoncé’s “Freedom” in “honor” of MLK Jr. More?
They “worshiped” to the Addams Family theme, covered Lady Gaga’s “Shallow,” swung from the rafters in a circus-like display to Kacey Musgraves’ “What a World,” and even pumped the nihilistic Garbage anthem “Only Happy When it Rains.”
And just to push it further, they celebrated “family” with Sister Sledge’s LGBTQ anthem, “We Are Family,” inviting yet another worldly influence straight into their service. And much, much more.
Charles Spurgeon hit the nail on the head when he warned that the church would one day be full of clowns entertaining goats, rather than shepherds feeding sheep. This church made headlines when its pastor was invited to the 2020 Southern Baptist Convention, a meeting thankfully canceled due to the “COVID” “pandemic.”
Known for being more of a spectacle than anything resembling a church, Church by the Glades hit a new low this weekend with its performance Bruno Mars’ “Runaway Baby” replete with mummies, zombies, and dead bodies. It’s almost as though they were performing a parody of their own audience.
This “church” needs the gospel—desperately.
