In the supposed sanctuary of a Church of England school, a Christian teacher faces not just the end of her career, but also an ideological battle against biblical truth. Glawdys Leger, a seasoned Modern Foreign Languages teacher, is being persecuted for her refusal to bow down to the altar of extreme LGBTQ ideology. The irony is glaring—this is happening in an institution that carries the banner of the Church of England waves the flag of the name of Jesus. But let’s not be naive, this isn’t just about Leger. This case lays bare the rank apostasy festering within the Church of England itself.

Ms. Leger found herself in this predicament for maintaining a biblical stance on human sexuality when responding to student questions. Instead of being lauded for her integrity and commitment to biblical principles, she was reported to the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) for “upsetting” a student. Now, her career hangs by a thread because she “upset” someone by sharing a view rooted in biblical Christianity. The egregiousness of this action by the TRA and the school raises serious questions about the trajectory of religious freedom and the fidelity of Church-affiliated institutions to their founding principles.

The curriculum Ms. Leger objected to included subjects like pansexuality, asexuality, and the idea that humans could be born in the “wrong body”—all under the banner of “Religious Education.” Apparently, the word “religious” is just window dressing, a relic that perhaps once indicated moral and spiritual instruction but has since been hollowed out. Let’s not fool ourselves, this curriculum is not only inconsistent with biblical Christianity but is also politically charged and partisan.

Ms. Leger took a stand because she saw that young, impressionable minds were being indoctrinated with a one-sided narrative. This brave teacher understood that silence in the face of this assault on biblical truth is complicity. Yet her conscientious objection fell on deaf ears and even the school chaplain was blissfully ignorant of the teachings taking place in the classrooms.

What we have here is an example of religious tokenism at its worst. The “Christian” aspects of the school are nothing but a facade behind which a very different set of beliefs is being propagated. If you pull back the curtain, what you see is an apostate institution that has severed itself from its Christian moorings to drift in the sea of cultural fads and political correctness.

The question must be asked: what has happened to the Church of England? Well, if the news of the last few years has proven anything, it’s that it has traded the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature of cultural trends rather than the Creator of all things. To have a Church of England school participate in this persecution is not just alarming, it’s a betrayal that illuminates the spiritual rot within the “Church” itself. By forsaking its biblical foundation, it has become an institution not of sacred truth, but of secular dogma.

Moreover, this case reveals the escalating risk faced by Christian teachers who dare to articulate biblical viewpoints. It’s not merely about safeguarding one’s professional career—it’s about defending the sanctity of objective truth in an increasingly hostile environment. If you’re a Christian teacher or a parent sending your child to a Church of England school, either in the U.S. Episcopal Church or abroad in its homeland, you should be deeply concerned.

That this is all done in the name of “tolerance” and “inclusion” is just laughable. True tolerance would mean allowing a diversity of perspectives, including those based on deep-seated religious beliefs. But Christians aren’t called to be “tolerant,” we’re called to defend the truth. But that appears to be a relic of a bygone era, buried under the rubble of political correctness and so-called “progressivism.” What’s happening in these so-called “Christian” schools around the world is the exact opposite.

This case is not just about the future of one teacher. It’s a canary in the coal mine, warning us of the poisonous atmosphere surrounding issues of faith, education, and freedom of thought. Most disturbingly, it exposes the widening chasm between the Church of England’s current trajectory and the unchanging truth of Scripture. For those who still hold the Bible as the final authority on all matters, this should serve as a wake-up call to take a stand before it’s too late. Get your kids out of those apostate schools.
