Today’s false teacher is sort of an obvious one for a lot of people, yet, I’ve been asked multiple times why he isn’t on the list. Making number 52 on our False Teacher of the Day series is Sid Roth.

Sid Roth is a popular charismatic televangelist featured on TBN and is the owner and founder of his ministry, It’s Supernatural. Roth is part of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR).

The New Apostolic Reformation’s roots can be traced back to the New Order of the Latter Rain, a cult that holds to the dominionist belief that God is restoring Apostles and Prophets who will carry out God’s work in restoring the nations back to Him while judging those who oppose Him. The NAR cult believes they are to influence the “seven mountains” of society including Arts and Entertainment, Business and Finance, Church and Religion, Dissemination and Media, Education and Science-Tech, Family and Health, and Government and Law.

Sid Roth is an entertainer first and foremost. His show features outlandish characters who make wild claims about what they’ve seen or done. On his show, It’s Supernatural, he recently platformed a woman who claimed that she commanded a tornado to stop in its tracks and it obeyed. This nutcase, Judy Brooks, attempted to usurp the power of Jesus who, in Mark 4:36-41 was marveled at when He commanded the winds to stop.

Another outlandish character Sid Roth platformed is named Georg Karl. Karl claimed that he visited Heaven and Jesus told him that they are always drunk in Heaven.

This is just a small example of some of the craziness that Roth platforms on his television show passing them off as true stories. But Roth’s problems don’t end there. But there was one thing Sid Roth said a couple of years ago that proved beyond doubt he was a false teacher—not that we needed more proof. In 2020, Roth said that the greatest proof that there was a God in Heaven was Donald Trump’s presidency. Yep. That’s what he said. He didn’t cite Scripture, he didn’t make an apologetic case. Nope, it’s Trump.

Here are his exact words, and then you can watch the video yourself if you are interested.

The greatest proof that there is a God in heaven is that he gave us a President of the United States that has gone through the most persecution. I don’t know how a human being can do that, and he seems- I mean he’s just a little younger than me, I don’t think a thirty-year-old could keep up with his pace. I don’t think a 50-year-old could handle all the pressure on that man. Now whether you like him or not, he is a miracle in my opinion.

Regardless of your opinion of Donald Trump, citing him as proof of God is blasphemous. There is only one man who is proof of God, His name is Jesus Christ. Does this sound like the kind of man you would want to assist you in training up your children? Well, Sid Roth targets children too. Roth is starting a new cartoon series called Supernatural Sid that indoctrinates children into his whacky and unbiblical belief system.

Sid Roth is a false prophet who has made unbiblical and ungodly claims. He also lies and repeats the same stories over and over again attributing lies to the Holy Spirit. In one instance, he re-told the same story with the same details but with a few elements changed in it in order to convince people that he had some kind of special connection with God. But he was caught.

Notice that Michael Brown (coming soon in a False Teacher of the Day article) defended Roth, calling him “godly.” Yet, Sid Roth is a liar, a deceiver, and a blasphemer who will lead anyone who is willing to follow him directly away from the true God of the Bible.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. —2 Corinthians 11:13-15
