A prominent Obama campaign staffer tied to Russell Moore, the ERLC, and The Gospel Coalition, has proposed a federal law legalizing abortion up to 15 weeks. Who is Michael Wear? According to Wear’s website for his “Reclaiming Hope” initiative, he is former president Barack Obama’s “Ambassador to America’s Believers.”

In this article at The Gospel Coalition, Greg Forster writes in praise of Michael Wear:

Wear is an evangelical Christian whose faith led him to seek justice and mercy in the world, and he sees that fulfilled through his work as a progressive Democrat. But he also longs to overcome polarization and find ways to work with conservative Republicans—including a candid assessment of our persistent disagreements—in order to move forward together toward the justice and mercy we all seek.

On Wear’s website, his bio states,

Michael Wear is Chief Strategist for the AND Campaign and is the Founder of Public Square Strategies LLC. He is a leading expert at the intersection of faith, politics, and American public life. As one of President Obama’s “ambassadors to America’s believers” (Buzzfeed), Michael directed faith outreach for President Obama’s historic 2012 re-election campaign. Michael was also one of the youngest White House staffers in American history, working in the Office for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Michael is author of Reclaiming Hope: Lessons Learned in the Obama White House About the Future of Faith in America, and he is often published or quoted in The Atlantic, The Washington Post, USA Today and more.

Wear is a political operative who makes his living at the highest levels of progressive politics while working with Evangelical organizations like The Gospel Coalition, the ERLC, and formerly the AND Campaign to infest his political ideologies into the Church.

Today, Wear is full-blown pro-abortion and advocating for federal laws to protect abortion rights. In an article on Substack where he currently writes titled This is How We End Abortion Politics as We’ve Known It, he says:

A sustainable compromise would include the following elements: a federal ban on abortion post-viability with exceptions for the life of the mother, rape and incest (the ceiling); the legalization of abortion up to a certain early-stage in a pregnancy (somewhere, perhaps, between eight-fifteen weeks, depending on the makeup of the coalition to support such a bill; the floor); the codification of the Hyde Amendment; the codification of robust conscience clause protections; a prohibition of federal laws overriding state restrictions on abortion as proposed by the WHPA; and a mandate that states ensure reasonable access to a safe abortion provider.

That anyone who claims to be a Christian could even possibly think this way is staggering. And while this really shouldn’t surprise us, the fact that men like Russell Moore, Tim Keller, and other Evangelical elites got away for so long promoting this stuff despite the fact that many of us have been blowing the horn on these people is what is mind-boggling. The damage that these men have done to the Church will be long-lasting.

Contrast is the Language of God’s Glory

Contrast—what a concept, simple yet immense. In its essence, contrast is the art of opposition, the power of two divergent things placed side by side, each making the other clearer, more defined, and more intense. It is the interplay of light against shadow, the...
