Journalist Jonathan Merritt, son of James Merritt, the former Southern Baptist president and current chairman of one of the most influential committees in the denomination, the Resolutions Committee, is closely tied to feminists and pro-LGBTQ activists like Beth Moore and Jen Hatmaker. Merritt is famous for being outed by another homosexual who says they had a one-night-stand sexual encounter at a Christian conference several years ago. Since then, Merritt has openly advocated for a sodomy-inclusive Church, feminism, and is a strong proponent of cultural Marxism.

Jonathan Merritt, who also supports transvestites handling preschool children in public libraries for “special playtime,” has repeatedly come out in defense of “Christian” sodomy. Celebrating pride month, Merritt released a video stating — in direct opposition to what the Scriptures say in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 — that all of the sexually immoral will receive the Kingdom of God despite the fact that they continue in rebellion against God and says that gay and “trans” people are welcome at God’s table.

And now, he wants to wish all Southern Baptist choir directors and their roommates a “happy pride month.”

Merritt’s comments came in response to a comment from a Southern Seminary professor, Andrew Walker, asking rhetorically about the increasing LGBTQ agenda supported by the left. Of course, Merritt, a militant gay activist masquerading as an evangelical, thinks this is better than Trump’s mean tweets.

Merritt must have missed that the proverbial “rainbow flag” is what brought the wrath of God down on Sodom and Gomorrah and is spoken of not only as the cause of God’s judgment, but the actual judgment of God in Romans 1.

Merritt took heat last year after publishing a video of one of his church members posting a degrading video on the birth of Jesus, stating that the “real scandal of the birth of God lies in the cracked nipples of a fourteen-year-old and not in the sermons of ministers who say women are too delicate to lead.”
