LGBT Researcher With Ties to TGC and ERLC to be Keynote Speaker at ‘Gay Christian’ Conference

by | Mar 1, 2019 | Blog, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Mark Yarhouse is famously known for his extensive “research” into various sexually deviant behaviors, their causes, and his approach to dealing with them when they arise. Yarhouse is the author of the book Do Ask, Do Tell, Let’s Talk: Why and How Christians Should Have Gay Friends, which is promoted by the Southern Baptist Religious Liberty Commission which discusses various methods of embracing the homosexual as a friend and a fellow Christian.

Yarhouse is a researcher at the Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity, and according to the website, “he chaired a groundbreaking symposium at the American Psychological Association’s annual convention that brought together gay psychologists and Christian psychologists to discuss common ground in treatment options for those who experience sexual and religious identity conflicts.” He also wrote a white paper on sexual identity which D.A. Carson, a co-founder of The Gospel Coalition recently edited for him.

Yesterday, Yarhouse gleefully announced he would be the final keynote speaker at the infamous Revoice conference — a “gay Christian” conference that has been denounced by the wider Evangelical community.

The Revoice conference has been denounced by conservative Evangelicals, and even by some of the more mainstream “moderate” Evangelicals, such as Al Mohler. Further, much of the terminology to reference sexual deviants promoted by Yarhouse — like “sexual minorities” — have actually been denounced even by contributors of The Gospel Coalition.

The Gospel Coalition has no doctrinal standards and is pretty much a free-for-all for anyone to come on and promote whatever they want without distinction. It has been the mission of The Gospel Coalition to build bridges not only between the progressive wing and the conservative wing of Christianity but also between Christianity and the Pagan world. Hopefully, people will wake up and see that Christians are not called to build bridges with the world, but to send the life-saving flotation device — the gospel — to rescue people from the world.

New York City’s Descent Into Delusion is Now Complete

At the stroke of midnight on January 1st, 2026—while most of the city was still sweeping up confetti and nursing a hangover—Zohran Mamdani was quietly sworn in as mayor of New York City. But not on a Bible. Not in front of the historic rotunda of City Hall. No, this...
