Peace and Unity With the Left is Not an Option for Christians

In the aftermath of the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump, it may seem prudent to seek common ground with our enemies. It may be easy to fall prey to the superficial and hollow calls to “unity” from political leaders—whether it be Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, or Gretchen Whitmer—condemning the violence.

Yet, we must not be deceived by this empty deceit, for the underlying worldview and agenda of these leftist leaders remain fundamentally opposed to God, the Church, and His creation. While we are glad that they, at least in words, condemned the violence, that’s about the only thing we can agree on.

For the last decade, the left has been fanning the flames of violence with false narratives about conservatives. They play word games, gaslighting the right by labeling us as “Nazis,” “white supremacists,” and “anti-choice,” among other pejoratives. These constant lies are not mere political rhetoric—they are calculated moves to advance a culture of fear and hatred against conservatives. It’s an agenda that culminated in a near tragedy.

Despite their hollow cries for peace and unity, conservatives should not fall for it. This is just another ploy from the left to appear reasonable while continuing to push for the senseless killing of unborn children, harmful trans ideologies on minors, and socialist and communist ideologies. They are exploiting this tragedy to try to gain favor, to seem like they are against violence when their policies and rhetoric have been inciting it all along.

This isn’t merely about Trump or politics—it’s about worldview. Conservatives share absolutely nothing with those who support the systematic murder of innocent unborn children. Absolutely nothing with those who want to push harmful transgender ideologies on children. And nothing with those who believe the state is a higher authority than God, and who want everyone to bow to this secular deity.

This is their ultimate goal, regardless of what they say. The facade of peace and unity they present is simply a tactic to further their destructive aims.

When these leftists cry for peace, it is reminiscent of the false peace described in the Bible—the kind of “peace” that the antichrist would preach. “They cry ‘peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.” Their calls for unity are empty and they do not seek true reconciliation but rather submission to their radical agenda. The reality is that the wrath of God is upon all wickedness, and His judgment would be just if it were to wipe America off the face of the earth.

This is not a time for conservatives to seek unity with those who fundamentally oppose everything we stand for. It is a time to stand firm, to reject the false narratives, and to uphold the truth. We cannot align ourselves with those who advocate for the very things that we believe are tearing the world apart and bringing upon us the wrath of a Holy God.
