If you’re not aware by now, Justin Peters, The Dissenter, and several other whistleblowers have been sounding the alarm on Florida’s flagship Southern Baptist congregation that is home to numerous openly, practicing homosexuals who serve in the church and even participate in baptizing other new members. We’ve been covering this for over a year, yet there has been little attention given to it by any Southern Baptist leader.
Interestingly, this past weekend, David Uth preached a sermon on purging the sexually immoral from the church from 1 Corinthians 5 and made a case, one that was surprisingly biblical for him, and then argued that churches that intermingle with folks who cause others to question God’s position on these issues should cease doing so.
Unsurprisingly, that’s exactly what David Uth’s First Baptist Church Orlando has been doing by baptizing open, practicing homosexuals and allowing them to serve in the church while living in unrepentant sin. Yet, instead of acknowledging that this is what his church has been doing and leading the church in repentance of this sin and actually carrying out what is commanded in 1 Corinthians 5, Uth decides to throw out an underhanded comment which was an obvious reference to Justin Peters’s videos he’s been putting out about this church.
In the sermon, he makes the point that not only should the sexually immoral be put out, but also lists the other sins in 1 Corinthians 5, pointing to someone who is a “reviler,” and then snarkily says that “revilers are people who stir up trouble, like people who make videos that are lies.”
Here’s the clip.
