The progressive ethics branch of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) headed by Russell Moore is the go-to organization for leftist resources when it comes to issues of politics, ethics, and social issues.
Russell Moore, a Democrat operative masquerading as a Christian thought leader, has almost single-handedly destroyed any remaining semblance of conservatism within the denomination as a whole and has moved the vast majority of cooperating churches along with him. His push for social progressivism and focus on social justice has taken the attention away from the gospel and uprooted the biblical values that the denomination once stood upon.
One of those values is sexual morality. While the denomination is certainly long strides away from completely apostate denominations such as the United Methodists or the Evangelical Lutherans, the movement from the once rock-solid biblical foundation on sexual morality is more than noticeable and the waters have been muddied, at best. The ERLC has heavily promoted such ministries as Living Out, which focuses on accepting and tolerating “celibate” but open homosexuals within the ranks of the Church.
In a guide published by the ERLC and sold on the ERLC’s website titled A Parent’s Guide to Teaching Your Children About Gender, the author quotes prominently the founder of the “gay Christianity” Revoice movement, Nate Collins. Collins, according to Thirty Pieces of Silver, is one of the highest quoted resources in the parents’ guide.

Who is Nate Collins? Nate Collins is a former professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a student of 15 years. In his doctoral dissertation at SBTS–which was approved by faculty members Thomas R. Schreiner, Jarvis J. Williams, and Gregg R. Allison–Collins concluded that the New Testament taught that “virgin” was a “third gender.” Nate Collins also promotes the idea that homosexuality is a “blessing” from God and that gay people have an innate ability to “love” others the way straight people do not.
For example, Collins liked the image below which was posted on Twitter.
The idea that being queer is a “gift from God” is heavily promoted in the Revoice movement which also approves of homosexuals living together as “couples” and carrying out life together the way a married couple would so long as they abstain from intercourse.
Further, Collins ponders the idea that Evangelicals might be to hard-lined when it comes to issues of sexual morality and wonders out loud if Jesus might have even been a homosexual.
This is the resource that the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission is putting out and this is what Southern Baptists are being told to use as a guide to teaching their children about gender identity and sexuality. A man like Collins, regardless of what he has to say, should be shunned and purged from the ranks of the Christian Church, not promoted and sold in Southern Baptist bookstores. Is this what Southern Baptists want? Is there any wonder why we’re losing so many children to this movement?
