Piggybacking off a previous post about the modern Christian music industry being nothing more than a launching pad into a secular music career, it is imperative to bring to your attention another of Evangelical’s favorite worship artists—Lauren Daigle. You know her, a lot of your churches probably play her music on Sunday mornings while you unknowingly fund her career in secular self-promotion.

Lauren Daigle, a Contemporary Christian Music artist was under fire a few years ago for her blatant compromise on homosexuality. It began with her appearance on the lesbian, Ellen DeGeneres’ show to perform her song, “Still Rolling Stones.”

Since then, she has expressed that she isn’t sure if homosexuality is sinful and that people need to “read the Bible and find out for yourself. And when you find out, let me know because I’m learning too.”

Amid the controversy in her celebrity life, she’s now facing the reality of the consequences of her influence. As with all celebrity CCM artists, she shrugs off her “Christian” identity for a more popular one, a secular one. She was later interviewed on 104.3 MYFM where she was asked if she considered herself to be a “Christian artist.”

Daigle has certainly lived up to her promise not to be a Christian artist. Every year, New Orleans puts on a festival, called Festival International, and this year, Daigle topped it. Daigle’s performance included a gospel-less singing venture replete with an open bar, lots of alcohol, and reportedly drag queens, homosexuals, and lesbians, all celebrating and worshiping…whatever it is they were worshiping…because it isn’t the true and living God of the Bible.

And lest you say that this is merely her way of bringing the gospel to lost people, there was no gospel at all in her performance. It’s all showy, self-promotion, man-affirming feel-good motivational singing.
Here is a clip to capture the essence of the event.

If Evangelicals Want to Become Catholic, We Should Let Them Go
