In a poll that Reformation Charlotte ran on YouTube, which asked voters how they would choose if forced to choose between a woke church, such as David Platt or Matt Chandler, and a NAR church, like Steven Furtick or Todd White, seventy-seven percent stated they would rather die.

While admittedly this is not a scientific poll by any means, the poll consisted of 711 voters–that’s nothing to balk at. In fact, that is pretty significant.

While it is easy for most people to write off the commonly-named heretics like Steven Furtick and Todd White, historically, David Platt has been seen as an orthodox pastor who is faithful to the Word. However, in recent years, Platt has taken a decidedly leftist turn as he has embraced Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, and social justice activism.

As we previously wrote, David Platt’s McLean Bible Church is currently in serious trouble as his obsession with race and departure from the gospel has caused chaos on the brink of schism in his congregation. Instead of shepherding his flock and teaching them to think biblically about cultural issues, he has embraced the twisted meaning of justice and morality of the world while trying to baptize it in Christian language.

Many are not falling for it, thankfully. But many are.

The fact that so many people would be willing to object so harshly to being forced to decide between these two types of heresies (the Social Gospel and the New Apostolic Reformation) speaks volumes of the importance of discernment in the Church. Pastors are failing to teach their congregation how to watch out for false teachings and, instead, playing politics and trying not to be offensive.
