If you’re unaware of the scandal involving the late Ravi Zacharias, who passed away last year after a long battle with cancer — has been scrutinized for several years by discerning Christians for allegations made against him for sexual misconduct — allow me to apprise you. The allegations came to light in 2018 when we received copies of text messages between Zacharias and one of his victims. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of Evangelicalism did not take the allegations seriously, save a few discernment blogs.
In 2018, it became public that Zacharias had been involved in a years-long “sexting” scandal and an emotional affair with another woman other than his wife. Zacharias admitted that he was caught up in the emotional aspect, privately in conversation with another woman who had been sending him nude pics of himself, but denied that it ever went any further than that.
Other allegations were made against Zacharias by a retired Detective Constable from the Ontario Provincial Police after 34 years of service that Zacharias, while a minister, pressured a teenage girl to have an abortion “if our careers are to survive.” To our knowledge, Zacharias never addressed these allegations.
Recently, an independent investigation which was conducted by the investigative firm Miller & Martin PLLC concluded in a 12-page report that these allegations made against Zacharias were not only credible, but the evidence was overwhelming that they were true and worse than originally thought. Ravi Zacharias had sexual relationships with other women outside of his marriage.

Ravi Zacharias was well-known for his platforming of sexually-confused apologists, including gay Anglican priest, Sam Allberry. And many other sexually-confused Christian-circuit speakers clung to him for guidance, including the lesbian Jackie Hill Perry.
Now, these same people are turning their backs on Ravi Zacharias because, well, that kind of sexual immorality is unacceptable.
No doubt Ravi Zacharias lived a life of sexual sin. But, to be clear, his sin is intolerable not because it is an affront to God, but because he is a male who held a position of authority. That’s how the left decides — on the intersectionality scale — whether one’s sexual sin is grievous enough to warrant excommunication.
On the other hand, Jackie Hill Perry, a militant black lesbian woman who claims victimhood — a whopping 5 on the intersectionality scale — gets a pass. She gets a pass when reminiscing about how she used to pee standing up but now gives John MacArthur advice on how to address gender roles. And Hill Perry gets a pass when she uses her platform to remove the stigma of homosexuality while castigating the Church for “hurting” the LGBTQ community.
And despite the fact Jesus himself said that those who look at women with lust have already committed adultery of the heart (Matthew 5:28), Hill Perry, who says she still lusts after other women, still gets invited to speak in the general Evangelical speaking circuit because of no other qualifications than her intersectionality score.
The same is true with Sam Allberry. Allberry, an unmarried gay Anglican priest — who describes himself as one “who describes himself as one who has “sexual, romantic and deep-emotional attractions to people of the same sex” — also gets a pass. Sam Allberry is the co-founder of Living Out, a gay Christian ministry devoted to promoting same-sex “celibate” intimate relationships and teaches that Jesus suffered from “body dysphoria.”
So these people — who score higher on the intersectionality scale than Ravi Zacharias, who has never claimed victimhood — are excused for their sexual transgressions. The problem is consistency. Those who promote the abnormal sexual lifestyles of intersectionality victims are given a pass while those who rank low on the intersectionality scale are scorned. The only thing keeping these leftists from digging Ravi Zacharias’ bones up and burning them is the fact that he wasn’t white. At least he’s got that going for him.
