Jen Wilkin Says We Need to Understand Women Teaching as Essential to the Local Church, Make Them Pastors

Jen Wilkin is the egalitarian feminist who works at The Village Church under Matt Chandler. Wilkin advocates for the destruction of biblical gender roles and is a regular speaker in the evangelical preaching circuit.

Wilkin, like Beth Moore, is staunchly opposed to God’s design for women and is rebellious against God’s Word. Wilkin has advocated for homosexual inclusion and teaches that God’s Word “whispers” about homosexuality while it “shouts” about other sins.

Because of a new movement in the Evangelical Church, particularly in the Southern Baptist Convention, women like Wilkin and Moore are not only able to be open about their rebellion against God’s design for them but are enabled by the effeminate men who lead the denomination. The SBC is now fostering an atmosphere that platforms and gives a voice to the loudest advocates of feminism there are, despite the official position against it.

In a recent chapel message at Southeastern Seminary, Wilkin was platformed and allowed to espouse some of the most egregious feminist rhetoric for egalitarianism. She sounded as though she was preaching from the pulpit of a United Methodist Church. She claims that Scripture has been “misinterpreted” throughout the history of the Church and that women should be able to “utilize their gifts” of teaching in the local church, even teaching to men.

“God does not give needless gifts, so if a woman has the gift of teaching and she’s in your church and there’s nowhere to utilize it, that is a wastefulness,” Wilkin says. But what Wilkin fails to acknowledge is that women do not have the gift of teaching in the local church. Scripture is clear on this, and to pretend like they do is to rebel against God.

SEBTS tweets,

An important question today at #SEchapel. @kswhitfield asks @jenniferwilkin: “What do you see as the number one challenge when it comes to developing female leaders in the local church?”
