Former Kingdom Diversity Coordinator at SEBTS Posts Woman-Degrading Foul Language on Facebook

All is fair game in the name of “wokeness” and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) is the “wokest” of the “woke.” SEBTS, led by Danny Akin, leads the way in the Evangelical seminary social justice movement with its own program rooted in the Marxist ideology of Critical Race Theory.

Critical Race Theory (CRT) emerged as an offshoot of Critical Theory, a neo-Marxist philosophy that has its roots in the Frankfurt School and its methods are drawn from Karl Marx and Sigmund Freud. CRT teaches that institutional racism exists within every structure of society and that these structures are intrinsically designed in such a manner as to protect and preserve “white supremacy” in our culture. Further, CRT does not rely on factual statistics or objective evidence to support the theory, rather it relies on anecdotal evidence and personal experience.

SEBTS’ Critical Race Theory Department — which is aptly called the Kingdom Diversity Program — is the outlet by which the seminary enforces such programs as affirmative action and redistributive “justice.” Depending on one’s melanin count, one is able to receive such benefits if the count happens to be higher. According to the Kingdom Diversity website, positive efforts are made to artificially force ethnic diversity among the students enrolled a the school through scholarships. It states,

Southeastern is committed to equipping groups who have been historically underrepresented on our campus to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission. Our financial aid resources represent part of a holistic effort to support current and future students in an attempt to make our campus look more like the kingdom.

The Kingdom Diversity program is now headed up by Walter Strickland who openly teaches heretical Black Liberation Theology popularized by the late Union Seminary alumnus, James Cone. Until 2017, the Kingdom Diversity coordinator at SEBTS was Maliek Blade who worked hand-in-hand with the president of the school, Danny Akin, along with other staff members. In 2017, he left to take a job at OBU as Assistant Dean of Students.

As previously stated, in Critical Race Theory, all is fair game in the name of wokeness. Anything goes and anything can be published so long as it gets the point across to the audience they’re trying to reach. Blade published the following posting on his Facebook page last Friday which is so bad that I can’t even repost it without blurring it out.

Folks, this is what the Evangelical Church that is focused on race, social justice, and diversity looks like. It is a Church that has largely lost the gospel and exchanged it for a false gospel of “fixing” the temporal problems in society. It no longer seeks to honor God — let’s be clear, this post, no matter the underlying truthfulness of it, is an affront to God.

Jesus said “if you love me, you will obey my commandments. (John 14:15)” One of the commandments was to let no corrupt word proceed from your mouth (Ephesians 4:29). We sincerely believe that what you see here is the typical fruit of a gospel-less social justice movement at SEBTS and the broader Evangelical Church. This is what SEBTS is producing. This is the next generation of Southern Baptist leaders.
