Sam Allberry is the gay Anglican priest who writes for The Gospel Coalition and appears regularly with Southern Baptist ethicist, Russell Moore, to advance his “gay Christian celibate” ideology. Allberry is an outspoken advocate of gay single adoption and holds an unbiblical view on singleness, holding that it is just as natural and normative as marriage. Allberry has been instrumental in moving the Southern Baptist Convention to the left when it comes to homosexuality, teaching that aberrant sexual desires are not inherently sinful.

It comes as no surprise then that Allberry, as with most homosexuals, pervert the the symbol of the rainbow and turn it into something it is not — in this case, Allberry promotes the lie that the rainbow is a symbol that God promises never to destroy the Earth again.

The quote in reference comes from the Jesus Storybook Bible, which has been denounced by conservative Christians as compromised and gay-affirming.

The book, which is touted as a children’s “bible,” falsely claims that God promises never to destroy the world again — and that the rainbow is a symbol of this promise. Contrary to what homosexuals want you to believe, the truth is nothing even close to this. The truth is God only promised never to destroy the Earth by flooding it again. On the other hand, God has promised to destroy the Earth by fire.

2 Peter 3:4-10 states,

They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perishedBut by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,[a] not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies[b]will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.[c]
