A charismatic false teacher, Jeremy Gibson, lead pastor at Awakening Church and former Liberty University student, utters a ridiculous and insulting false prophecy claiming there will be “no more stillborns” and “no more miscarriages” because God is going to connect you with your “Apostolic Midwife.”

Not only is this tweet highly offensive to mothers who’ve actually given birth to a stillborn baby or had a miscarriage, it’s also offensive to God, who said, “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.” (Hebrews 1:1-2) In other words, true prophecy has ceased in this day. We do not receive new revelation from God. The canon of Scripture is closed and Christ is revealed in Scripture. God has revealed all we need to know in His word (2 Tim 3:16-17).

But to speak something so offensive–to equate some gut feeling you have to something so horrible–is, to say the least, highly disturbing. But this is just par for the course from these charismatic quacks. Obviously, what God has given through His Son Jesus isn’t enough and he, in the words of another false prophetess, Beth Moore, “yearns for more.”

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

2 Peter 2:1 (ESV)
